Programmatic Direct
Definition:
Programmatic direct allows advertisers to buy guaranteed ad impressions in advance from premium publisher sites or apps strongly aligned to their desired audience. Programmatic direct is a human agreement between advertiser and site owner with guaranteed inventory using the DSP to provide the targeting and manage the campaign.
Protected Premium Inventory

This publisher inventory is usually protected premium inventory, in unique formats i.e. home-page-takeover ads at a set price for an agreed upon number of impressions – the equivalent to buying directly from the supplier, and bypassing the retailer.
A deal ID is passed from the DSP to the publisher to track impressions, and retain all campaign metrics inside the platform.
Futures Market, Programmatic Guaranteed
In the case of Guaranteed Deals, sometimes referred to as Futures Market or Programmatic Guaranteed, an advertiser can lock in a predetermined amount of impressions for a fixed price and use these impressions as they like. If the CPM goes up, they are protected in their original contract.
